We're moving forward with two laneway pilot projects

The Laneway Project has selected two pilot projects to launch our hands-on laneway improvement process for communities across Toronto. We'll be working on:

  • Reggae Lane - a commercial laneway along Eglinton Avenue, east of Dufferin with a rich multicultural community and strong opportunities for public space improvement.

  • CCGB Lane - a busy residential laneway near Dundas and Dovercourt that needs improvements to help all users safely use the space and improve connections between the area's few public spaces.

With funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, The Laneway Project will undertake these projects in partnership with the local community stakeholders. We'll be working directly with the community to develop an vision for their laneway, then will develop a master plan and as well as an implementation plan for making that vision a reality.

Our engagement process with the local communities begins in May, with the final master plan results expected in early Fall of 2015.
